NESMA Victoria celebrated its AGM in July, reporting strong educational and representational advances of benefit to members including its involvement in the Victorian Service Installation Rules (VSIR) initiative.

Representation on VSIR gives NESMA direct input into the implementation of wide- ranging service and installation rules for electrical installations to the Victorian Electricity Distribution Networks.

Another highlight of the evening was the evolution into a new, stronger body of the NESMA Victoria Technical Committee, providing further educational resources to Members, said Retiring Honorary President Wayne Rose, who was thanked for his strong service.

David Webb was subsequently elected Hon President, with Chris Van Der Kooi Vice-President and Secretary, and Daniel Heeps Treasurer.

The Committee on the Activities of the Association noted a range of events attracting new and existing members, including the Test Seminar, Schneider Night and NHP night with IEI inspectors discussion.

“NESMA Victoria members have made it a priority not only to unite with other leaders in their industry to advance Standards, Quality, Safety and Compliance, but also to directly engage with those major organisations outside our Membership that are introducing change that will affect us all,” said Chris Van Der Kooi.

“As a group of industry professionals dedicated to achieving the best outcomes for members, it makes sense for us to be highly pro-active and involved in outcomes, so we work within the bigger picture of accelerating change and make a positive contribution through our role.”

“All NESMA members are doing this voluntarily to make a difference for the better, and we appreciate their contribution at the AGM.” Members attending the event included:
